Culture Vannin has joined forces with similar organisations from Wales (TRAC Cymru) and Cornwall (Lowender) to present a folk music exchange called Môr / Mooir / Mor created especially for European Folk Day!
A common theme found in both the landscape and cultural heritage of all three nations is the ‘sea’, and interestingly, the Celtic cousins share a very similar sounding name for the sea in each language: Môr in Welsh, Mooir in Manx and Mor in Cornish!
Culture Vannin’s Manx youth music group ‘Bree’ will take on the Môr / Mooir / Mor challenge on Saturday 7th October, with the aim of learning Welsh and Cornish tunes at the workshop, and sharing their performance on Monday the 23rd of September.
